We didn't opt out of CDs.
We opted out of the CD player.
Myriad is an album that you can play with your smartphone.
Mission
We want to put music back on the shelves.
We want people to enjoy beautifully printed cover art, a physical collection of music, and the joy of a deeply personal gift without having to purchase a CD player or a gramophone.
We want artists to reach a much wider audience with physical media, bringing them the revenue they deserve and helping them foster a deeper connection with their audience.
About the company
The team
Myriad was conceived in December 2024 in Berlin by Seb Kurella, a software engineer who was frustrated that he could no longer buy music for Christmas as most of his friends don't have a gramophone or a CD player.

FAQ
Why would I prefer it over a CD or LP?
You don't need dedicated equipment to play a Myriad album. Once you scan it, you can listen to it anywhere. And there's no disc to misplace or mistreat.
There's also less than 1 gram of plastic in a Myriad album—it's made primarily out of paper and metal.
Why would I prefer it over streaming?
A physical medium builds a deeper connection with music. You get to remove the clutter, build a collection, and gift music to your loved ones. The artist makes considerably more money by selling an album than by streaming it.
Can I play it on my stereo / in my car?
Yes, as long as it supports wireless audio from your smartphone.
Do I need an active Internet connection?
You need a connection to download the album onto your device. Once it's there, you can play it any number of times.
Do I need a subscription to a streaming service?
No. When you purchase a Myriad album, you own the music. There are no subscriptions or hidden fees.
Do I need to create an account?
No. Scan the album and enjoy the music, with an account or without one.
What are the benefits of creating an account?
You can listen to your music on any device where you're signed in. You don't need to scan the album to listen to it again.
Can I lend it to a friend?
Of course. When they scan it, they'll be able to listen to it. They'll need to give it back to you for you to listen to it again.
I've had the album for 50 years and suddenly I can't scan it. What do I do?
Contact us. We'll send you a replacement chip free of charge, as long as the album had previously been added to your account.
We're committed to long-term service continuity.
